a) Beyond any wall, fence, hedge or line of white stakes defining the boundary of the course.
b) In or beyond the River Cart.
c) On or beyond the path behind the 1st tee and 18th Green.

2. Penalty Areas – Rule 17
Yellow penalty areas marked with yellow lines or yellow stakes (Rule 17.1d(1) and (2)).
Red penalty areas marked with red lines or stakes (Rule 17.1d(3)).
3. Immovable Obstructions – Rule 16.1
a) All fixed bridges and bridge supports are immovable obstruction.
b) Artificially surfaced roads and paths are immovable obstructions.
c) Relief from interference by an immovable obstruction may be taken under rule 16.1.
The player also has these extra options to take relief when such immovable obstructions are close to the putting green and on the line of play: Ball in general Area. The player may rake relief under Rule 16.1b if an immovable obstruction is:
On the line of play, and is:
Within two club-lengths of the putting green, and:
Within two club-lengths of the ball.
EXCEPTION – NO RELIEF IF LINE OF PLAY CLEARLY UNREASONABLE. There is no relief under Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.

The retaining wooden sleepers in the ditch crossing the 10th fairway.
6. Ground Under Repair – Rule 16.1
Grounds Under Repair shall include:
a) Any area encircled by a white line.
b) Deep tractor tyre ruts.
c) Vandalism to a putting green.
d) French drains (stone-filled drainage ditches).
Note: Players are requested to make themselves acquainted with additional Local Rules that may be posted from time to time in the Clubhouse.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES:
Match Play – Loss of Hole; Stroke Play – Two Strokes.
CONDITION OF COMPETITION
The recognised practice areas to the left of the 18th fairway and between the 3rd and 4th holes may be used by players for practice on any day of the competition.
