Pollok Dress Code and Etiquette

For the last year or so, COVID restrictions have enforced the suspension of much of our Dress Code, however with the re-opening of the clubhouse, locker rooms and showers the Committee believes that the time is right to begin to reclaim  something which is a source of pride to Pollok Members.

As a reminder to all Members, in particular those who have joined in the last 12 months, our Dress Code and Etiquette is part of the Pollok tradition and ethos, which adds to the source of pride of being a Member of this Club. As such, it is a Code which has been – and will be again – managed by the Caddymasters who have the Committee’s approval to enforce compliance or where appropriate deny access to the clubhouse or course. We would however expect members to willingly participate in re-establishing this code of conduct.

The Dress Code follows in this note and Members should familiarise themselves with the content. It will be re-established in stages and in the first instance will apply to the dress code on the course. It is a modern and flexible approach with few restrictions. In particular Members should be aware of the rule on trousers – and  during the summer months, on shorts. It is incumbent on Members to ensure that their guests are similarly aware of what is acceptable to avoid embarrassment on the first tee.

Members are reminded that under no circumstances will football colours or similar accessories be permitted either on the course or within the precincts of the clubhouse.

Other matters relating to clubhouse procedures will follow later.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
